I laid down for a nap at eight and woke up just now, five and a half hours later.

And I wasn't even that tired :\

Also I visited Evansville this weekend! I had a lovely time. My host was from my state, gets migraines like I do, knits like I do, was a National Merit Finalist like I hope to be (I'm a Semifinalist already, *keeps fingers crossed*), is in the Honors program like I also hope to be, and currently lives in the dorm I want to live in. So. That was excellent. Also, I was invited to my first college party, but I didn't go, something for which I am catching a lot of flak from my friends at school :| Whatever though, it was a Rubik's Cube party and I didn't want to get naked in front of strangers (though getting naked in front of people I know is something I'm really used to, thanks show choir), nor did I bring any clothes I was okay with giving away.

Everyone in the theatre department seemed really cool, though, SMs included/especially! And I saw their really incredible production of Parade and nearly cried. So I'm 95% sure that's where I'm heading next year.

And I can't really do the last one because I can't look at my reference books in the dark, but I can find some web sources, write my opening/closing paragraphs, and draw up an outline, which I've done. :)

I am so happy~~~Plus I got Adobe Premiere Elements, a wireless printer/scanner/copier, a cable lock, a stereo headset, an inkjet cartridge for my new printer, and 2-year accidental damage protection, all for $1200 after tax.  Of course I say "I got" when I mean "My parents got me" but pfft, such are the joys of youth, right?  This is my laptop for college, after all; I'm only getting it early because my grandparents want a laptop now and I said they could just have my old one and my parents could buy me the one they were going to buy me anyway six months earlier.

• Homework for three AP classes (Thank god I don't have a Stats test until after the con.)
• College applications
• Scholarship applications

Update, 10/18: This weekend I was incredibly unproductive and spent most all of Saturday lying around in my bed, dicking around online, too lazy to even go downstairs and get my DS charger.  I managed to get 16 emoticon clips embroidered, but not much else.

Update, 10/20: I've been knocking out the emoticon embroidery this week and last at school and at home, now they're all embroidered but a dozen of the pink ones.  I still need to sew the giant paopus, bake the shrinky dinks, and have button-mania Thursday, but I feel much more confident now, especially since I'm passing off the wingclip embroidery to the mondofabulous sheimimomo .  HOPEFULLY I can get the giant paopu cut out and all the leaves sewn and stuffed on Friday while I'm waiting for her to come, and then also Friday I need to knock out as many emoticon clips as humanly possible.  I'd like to have nothing to do next week but giant paopu, shrinky dinks, and buttons.  That would make me v. v. happy and relaxed.  WISH ME LUCK.

Update, 11/3: Fucking vocal music concert tonight throwing off my groove :|  But I've got about half of the emoticon clips completely finished, and thankfully both Thursday and Friday off school, so tomorrow night will be GIANT PAOPU FRENZY with a little EMOTICON CLIP CRAZY thrown in for good measure.

Update, 11/4, 7:50 PM: I'm going to update this several times tonight/tomorrow morning as I sew forever.

Update, 11/5, 5:35 PM: Buttons are done, the shrinky dinks we'd printed before are baked, I just have to wrestle them onto the lariat rings without losing a finger.  sheimimomo is finishing the wing clips as I type, I just have to do the giant pillows and then sew the last two colours of emoticon clips after I print, cut, bake, and charm the remaining shrinky dinks.

Livejournal's HTML editor makes me want to kill myself.  For some reason, it feels the need to completely fuck up perfectly reasonable HTML.  So, I just went through and re-coded the entire taken/reserve/friend add/remove post over at the comm I mod, but this time into a notepad doc, and then pasted that in and it worked perfectly, doing the EXACT SAME THINGS I was doing before.

h2okarintou - Ema Skye, Ace Attorney
Only chem nerds would notice this, but the three buttons on younger Ema Skye's vest are a clever representation of a water molecule. They're arranged in a bent/angular shape, just like water molecules, the two bottom buttons have H-shaped mouths (Hydrogen atoms) and the upper button has an O-shaped mouth (Oxygen atom). That's where the H2O part came from, and as for karintou, I was never particularly fond of the localized name of "snackoos", nor the implication that they're chocolate (they're not, they're a rather foul-tasting brown sugar sort of flavour), so I went with the original Japanese karintou instead.

magatamalaw - Mia, Ace Attorney
Not one of my best :\  Magatama because that's what her family of spirit mediums uses as practically their symbol and what she wears attached to her scarf, and the law bit should be obvious.

infernoassassin - Axel, KH
Inferno, as in fire, and assassin because those are his Nobodies (although they should really be Marluxia's because he's the Graceful Assassin...).

8 because of his number in the Organization, and then burn relating to his fire powers.  Not a particularly creative username.

I got this one in a journal swap because it seemed interesting.  Haven't actually used it.

I'm proud of this one. "Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire!"  It was especially appropriate for when I played him at Salkia, a crack game.

I remember being really surprised this one wasn't taken.  Liquid because of his water powers and melody because his weapon is a sitar.  I  don't particularly care for underscores in general but this one was appropriate.

acidbolts - Larxene, KH
I fucking love this muse.  It's a little ridiculous.  The username comes from acid, as in her acid tongue, and bolts, because her powers are lightning based.  An aside:  whenever anyone says a character has thunder powers and they mean electricity/lightning, I giggle a little and feel generally superior.

bitchedingly - Larxene, KH
For roleplayedingly when I played there.  Bitch should be obvious (sadisticingly was both awkward and too long, ditto for sadistingly), and then ingly is the requisite suffix for all character journals there.

roiducoeur - Tamaki Suoh, OHSHC
Another of my favourites, and he's a really fun muse for me because I'm a huge francophile and interjecting random French words is both canon and fun.  This username means "King of the Heart", appropriate because Tamaki is the King of the Host Club and also because he's good at seducing women.

vpblackranger - Kakeru Manabe, Fruits Basket
I should really throw him somewhere.  I basically am this character, from his narcolepsy to his enthusiasm.  Regarding the username, VP because he's the student council vice president and Black Ranger because that's what he's labeled himself as within the student council's theoretical super sentai group.  Yeah did I mention he's nuts?  Another thing we have in common.

signora_disdain - Beatrice, Much Ado About Nothing
My newest baby.  Much Ado has always been one of my favourite Shakespeare plays and Beatrice has always been one of my favourite characters.  I had the hardest time finding her a username, though--I wanted ladydisdain or lady_disdain, both of which were taken, and all of the following were either too long or taken as well: parrotteacher, parrot_teacher, ladytongue, lady_tongue, mydearladydisdain.  Finally I chose signora_disdain because Signora is the feminine of Signior (which is what they call Benedick) and disdain because the first time Benedick sees her in the play, he says to her "What, my dear Lady Disdain!  are you yet living?"

Another Beatrice one, but never actually used.  From the quote in Act V Scene ii, Benedick says "Thou and I are too wise to woo peaceably."

Gilded because of the expression "to gild the lily"; emerald because of her eye colour.  I adore Lily and I adore this PB for her, I just don't know how good I am at playing her.

littlest_lily - Lily Luna Potter, Harry Potter
Littlest because she's the youngest in her immediate family and also the youngest in her (enormous) extended family, at least at the moment.  Lily should be obvious.  I wanted "potterofthevalley" but it was both taken and too long.  Then I thought something relating to the Latin word for valley, because that's what they use for valleys on the moon, but that seemed too pretentious.  So I settled on this.  Not really happy with it, but not unhappy enough to change it.  I also don't have a better idea, haha.

charming_sob - Sirius Black, Harry Potter
MY FAVOURITE RP CHARACTER LJ NAME EVER AHHH I AM SO BRILLIANT.  Charming should be obvious, but SOB has like four layers of meaning: 1) S.O.B. are his initials (Sirius Orion Black); 2) SOB = son of a bitch, his mother is a bitch; 3) SOB = son of a bitch, and he IS a son of a bitch in the insult sense of the term; and 4) SOB = son of a bitch and a female dog is called a bitch so if he's a dog he must be the son of a bitch.

I'm really sorry I haven't been around much, guys--RP or otherwise.  4 AP classes, particularly AP Calc BC and AP Chem (Calc because the course is hard, Chem because the teacher is absolute shit) was an extremely unwise decision on my part and if I had one wish, it would be to go back in time and beat my sophomore self over the head with a blunt object until she snapped out of stupid.

Or world peace.

Aaaaanyway...not that I can report anything's changing.  If anything, with AP tests coming up in two weeks, I'll have even LESS time.  However, after May 14, I've got some finals, but nothing TOO majorly horrible, and school's out May 22 and I'll be back to bothering you all full-time.

...of course I'm stage managing/assistant directing for the district's summer musical, which means rehearsal Monday-Thursday from 8AM-12PM for all of June and the first week of July, and I'm taking a college course on rock and pop music, and I'm going to Thes Fest for the last week of June.

BUT UM.  That's still a shitton more time than I would have had.  So!  Yeah.

I really hate running, and I'm bad at tennis, I don't like Aerobics (which I'm in right now) because wtf, effort in PE? What is this shit?

I really liked Lifetime Sports (I liked to joke it was PE for fat kids, lol) though. Bowling and archery and shuffleboard? Eff yes!
